The electrical engineering department was established at the faculty of engineering at An-Najah National University in teh academic year 93' - 94' to respond to the Palestinian social needs of distinguished efficient and abilities in electrical engineering fields. Nowadays the electrical engineering department offers an academic program that leads to B.Sc. in electrical engineering, that gives the student the basic rules in electrical engineering including Electronics and Communication Engineering, Power Engineering and Computer Engineering.
Students requires 165 credit hours through five years of study to obtain a B.Sc. in electrical engineering. The students must finish their graduation project through the last year in which they apply the acquired information in one of the electrical engineering fields for local projects.
During the period of study and in order to consolidate the engineering fundamentals, the student must study practical courses in the laboratories of the electrical engineering department. This courses include Electrical Circuits lab, Electronic Circuits lab, Communications lab, Electrical Machines lab, Digital Electronic Circuits lab, Microprocessors lab, Computer lab, Control lab, Digital Signal Processing lab (DSP) and workshops.
Admission Requirements:
1. Fulfillment of the specialization conditions in the engineering faculty.
2. Passing the courses: 21101, 21102, 22101, and 22102. And because of the limited number of students that the department can accept, the selection of them will be after finishing the first preliminary year according to the competition average in Mathematics and Physics courses.
Graduation Requirements for the B.Sc. Degree in Electrical Engineering Department: To earn the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering the student must complete 175 credit hours divided as follows: - University requirements 26 credits - Faculty requirements 20 credits - Department requirements 129 credits
