ABSTRACT
Due to the continuous urban expansion and the increasing number of vehicles that fill the streets and roads, a greater demand for more highways and road pavement with high quality has emerged.
Chapter one talks about the study area and defines the objectives of the project.
Chapter two discusses the methodology that was followed to achieve the objectives which were discussed in chapter one thoroughly.
Chapter three describes the existing pavement conditions and defines the distresses types that were found in the existing pavement after field investigation.
Chapter four talks about AASHTO 1993 design method and the pavement evaluation.
Chapter five presents a new pavement design method using an empirical method with Design Guide software "MEPDG" Mechanistic Empirical Pavement Design Guide.
Chapter six talks about "GIS" Geographic Information System and its application in presenting the data for pavement management purposes.
Chapter seven presents the conclusions and recommendations.
