"Al-Tawon Building" is located in Nablus city. It's a building of thirteen floors; six floors below the ground and seven floors above the ground, and will be used as residential building of masonry walls and total area equals 7106.34 m2. It's useful for both educational and practical hand to design this project. In addition, it will be a chance to learn seismic design of structures and the ability to be familiar with the design codes. Furthermore, we can apply our knowledge in engineering in realistic problems to apply what we have learned.
To design this project(we mean here part of the building which is the seven stories block), we will make the mathematical representative model of structure that reflects reality as much as possible. We need to analyze a 3D dynamic structural model for building under static and dynamic loads using SAP14.2.4 program and IBC2012 by using LRFD method. In this project, we will design to satisfy strength, serviceability and stability, and we will put the expected loads on the structural elements and making analysis of structure to find the internal forces, and make sensual and analogical checks on the results. To design the structure for earthquake, we put the load that represents the project site, and design it and make sensual checks on the results of design.
In the final phase of the project, the dimension of the structural elements will be designed in addition to reinforcement details (length, diameter, distribution) that will be clearly shown in drawings; Such that it will be suitable for execution as much as possible. Also, these results will be compared to the work of the official company that’s authorized to design it, by comparing the methods used in design and general design output.
