Introduction of the project & conceptual design
Libraries are considered the most important cultural buildings because of the impact on the culture and consciousness of the individual and perhaps this great influence must begin good and effective design either functionally or even from an aesthetic point of the building design.
Public libraries are not a place that contains books only it's an educational, cultural and social organization that provides a kind of welfare for society and the most important that visitors come to visit the library without external force but themselves. Starting from this point the main idea came to revival the library culture and encourages reading, though design that attracts people and simulates their expectations to have their attention.
Integration with the nature and design inertial garden to provide a new spatial experience for the readers, at the end result there was an overlapping between tow blocks the first -solid- which includes different functions of the library, and the second one is a transparent glass contain the inner garden, which make continuity what's inside outside and this also had helped to achieve one of the library tasks that knowledge for everyone .
In this project it was considered both environmental and construction issues to make an effective design and achieves the goal of providing a comfortable environment.
Site Location
Site was chosen at the western entrance of Nablus city , at the intersection of Street and tulkrem street the site can easily accessible from the city center through the line of public transportation and the area is about 20,000 Square meters also the site includes different architectural styles, residential and industrial.
The importance of the site is the fact that the public library offers its services to all individuals of society it was necessary to choose an accessible area ,the Nablus city is in need of such kind of projects that provides large expanses of green spaces and gardens due to lacks of recreational places and suffers from overcrowding buildings .
